i would rate the teams with the best recruiting so far like this:

1) Texas - with 19 commitments (9 of which are in the top 100) it's hard to argue against anyone having a better class than Texas at this point

2) Notre Dame - a commitment from Jimmy Clausen brings a lot of the nation's top talent to South Bend for a visit...i think they land Arrelious Benn, and they could very well land arguably the nation's top RB in Marc Tyler (he goes to the same high school as Jimmy Clausen)...they'll bring in 3-4 of the nation's top OLine to go along with Sam Young from last year...they'll need to upgrade defensively though, and they could very well do that with Marvin Austin

3) North Carolina - they already have Mike Paulus and the nation's #3 WR in Dwight Jones...they should add Ryan Houston and Greg Little...Albert Craddock will be one heckuva OLB, but he is looking around...Johnathan Smith should be another 4-star DB


FWIW i believe Notre Dame ends up on top...too much recruiting being done by Jimmy Clausen for it not to happen

Miami and FSU will get their last week commitments in February as always and climb the charts...USC will be there as well...Florida already has 3-4 top 100 players committed...VT has a very good shot at #18 (Tyrod Taylor) as well as 4-star WR's Mark Barnes and Jay Smith

the most intruiging recruiting battle this year will be between USC, UCLA and Notre Dame for RB Marc Tyler...his father played at UCLA, USC is well...USC, and his HS teammate Jimmy Clausen has committed to ND...that'll be one to watch

Tyler will end up at USC. The feeling that the UT coaches got from him was that he didn't want to go where Jimmy went.

if that's the case i would watch Broderick Green to see what he does...with Emmanuel Moody, Kenny Ashley, Stanley Havilli, Stafon Johnson and then Marc Tyler there (all are at least 4-stars) id say he might start lookin around
